At this stage, the Necromorphs function as a genocidal army, with necromorphs repurposing bodies into new morphs. Much of the wall flesh growth is Corruption, made of human cells and DNA but repurposed by the Marker signal.įollowing infections, the markers, the red ones specifically, take control of the necromorphs as a hive mind through unknown means outside just the "Signal". The changed flesh is technically revitalized dead flesh, but no longer specifically bateria. This bacteria is the core of all necromorphs, and some necromorphs are able to transfer this to new hosts.
Necromorphs are powered and morphed througha special bacterium the Markers cause ahuman under it's influence to develop synthetically. It's not accurate to use the term parasite as there are no parasites.
